Taking place in Doha, Qatar on Friday, the 2022 FIFA World Cup draw will determine the composition of 32 teams for the event. The draw will be broadcast live in English on the FIFA Youtube channel and on TSN in Canada. There will be 2,000 guests in attendance.

In addition to the host nation, Qatar, the 2022 FIFA World Cup draw will include the top seven teams from the FIFA world rankings, as well as the seven other highest-ranked teams. The FIFA World Cup draw will also determine the group matches and the stadiums where the tournament matches will be played.

During the World Cup group stage, each team will play four matches per day. The winners of each group will advance to the round of 16 where they will play the runner-up. The group stage will last for 12 days. Groups will move sequentially through Group H.

The other 29 qualified teams will be placed in four pots. The FIFA world rankings will determine the placement of these teams in the pots. The four pots are pot 1, pot 2, pot 3, and pot 4.

Pot 1 will include the host nation Qatar, as well as the top seven teams from the FIFA world rankings. The final UEFA squad will be placed in the remaining two spots in Pot 4. Pot 4 will include the teams of Wales/Scotland/Ukraine, Costa Rica/New Zealand, and the winner of the intercontinental playoffs.

Pot 2 includes the next eight highest-ranked qualified teams. The winners of the two intercontinental playoffs will be placed in the two open spots.
